CLAT Syllabus (Latest)

English Language and Comprehension: This section includes English comprehensions to test the candidates’ proficiency in English. The English will consist of passages of about 450 words each from the topics such as fiction/ non-fiction, contemporary/historical, etc. Some questions will be asked on the basis of given passages and candidates have to choose the correct answer from given options. The questions will be asked on their understanding of the passage and its central theme, meanings of some words, etc.
Current Affairs and General Knowledge: This section also includes some passages instead of direct questions as per the latest exam pattern. The passages will consist of 450 words each and the same would be derived from various sources like news, journals, History of India, etc. Reading newspapers, current affairs magazines, static GK will be beneficial to score good marks in this section.
Quantitative Aptitude: This section is considered as the most scoring section and it will include short sets of facts, graphs, or other textual, Number Series, pictorial representations of numerical information. Most of the questions will be asked in the form of Data Interpretation. The basic knowledge of Maths up to 10th class is enough to score good marks in this portion.
Legal Reasoning: As you are going to get admission into law courses after clearing CLA, therefore this section is included to check the candidate’s interest in the study of law, research aptitude. This section will also check the ability of candidates to solve logical problems. Questions would be based on passages of approximately 450 words each relating to legal facts or matters.
Logical Reasoning: This section also includes questions based on the passage of 300 words. The section will test the candidate’s ability to identify patterns, logical series, and rectify illogical arguments. The questions would be based on the passage of 300 words.
