The LIC AAO Exam Pattern was announced in the LIC AAO notification in February 2020. The notice was issued by the corporation to hire professional and experienced candidates as Assistant Audit Officers in various divisions of LIC. The preliminary exam was scheduled in April 2020 but was deferred due to the COVID pandemic. LIC has also released a notice regarding the exams post the lock-down.

The LIC will hold the LIC AAO Exam when the lock-down will be over. The LIC AAO Exam Pattern has three levels viz Preliminary, Mains and Interview level. The students who will be successful in all the three levels will be given the appointment letter. The exam of the LIC AAO will be conducted at a separate date. The LIC AAO is a managerial level job and involves working on the public transactions, new schemes, disbursement of policy money etc.

LIC AAO Exam Pattern
Phase 1- Preliminary Exam
The preliminary exam will be a 1-hour exam comprising of 3 subjects viz Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude and English Language. There are prescribed sectional timing for each subject and a total of 100 questions are asked at this level. The negative marking is applicable as 1/4th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. The LIC AAO Exam Pattern reads that the English marks will not be applicable in the overall marks or cut-off.

The LIC AAO Exam Pattern also consists of the final selection process for the post of Assistant Audit Officer. The students who clear both the phases by clearing the cut-off will be called in for the language proficiency test by the authorities. The insurance company will conduct separate language tests for the students of different divisions and zones.
Final Selection of LIC AAO
The final selection of an LIC AAO is based on the total score of mains and interview. The students have to appear for the interview that will be held for the students who will be selected in the LIC AAO Mains. The students have to clear the cut-off of the interview stage, post this the students will have to wait for the merit list. The LIC will release the final merit list of the students who will be selected as the Assistant Audit Officer. The students will be then called for the document verification in which the officials will check the originality of the documents submitted by the students.
