AFCAT 2021 Eligibility Criteria

The applicants can check the eligibility criteria from the table given below. The table is divided into three section that is Nationality, AGE Limit and Educational Qualification.

NationalityThe applicants must be a citizen of India as per Indian Citizenship Act, 1955
AGE LimitFlying Branch: The age of the applicant must be between 20 to 24 years as on 01 July 2021
Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branch: The age of the applicant must be between 20 to 26 years as of 01 July 2021
Educational QualificationFlying Branch: The applicant must have passed 10+2 level with at least of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics And The applicants must have passed graduation in any Discipline/B.E/B Tech with at least 60% from  a recognized University  
Ground Duty (Technical Branch): The applicant must have passed 10+2 level with at least of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics And The applicants must have passed graduation/post-graduation of four-year degree in Engineering/Technology from recognized University  
Ground Duty (Non-Technical Branch):
Administration: The applicant must have passed 10+2 level and graduate degree with at least of 60% marks in any discipline from a recognized University
Education: The applicant must have passed 10+2 level and post-graduation degree with at least of 50% marks and 60% marks in graduation in any discipline from a recognized University

AFCAT 2021 Selection Process

The selection process for the post will be conducted in two stages that are as follow:

  • AFCAT
  • Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT is for candidates opting for Ground Duty (Technical) Branch)

The applicants need to appear and qualify AFCAT exam to be eligible to appear for the next stage. Candidates who qualify AFCAT will be called with their relevant documents at one of the Air Force Selection Boards. The AFSB testing will be conducted in three stages that are as follow:

Stage 1: Offline Intelligence Rating Test along with Picture Perception and Discussion Test

Stage 2: Psychological Test, Group Tests, and Interview

For Flying Branch: Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS)

The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks secured in written exam and AFSB test fixed by IAF and the qualified candidate will be considered for the post.
